Law and Order Universe

Law is complex and hard to comprehend but you should be reminded that ignorance of the law excuses no one. Despite its complexity, it remains to be our solid foundation that controls the state and the society in general. Order is important for without it, the society will fall apart. Law and order is not new because ancient societies practice it. Have you heard about the Hammurabi’s code? If not, it is just a simple law: an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth. This means that the degree of punishment depends on the crime committed.

If you do good things, you will be spared but if you do bad things, you will be punished by imprisonment or worse, death. Though societies differ in culture and practices, the law will always give high regard to the welfare of its constituents. Law is either a profession or a system. Many people practice and uphold law. These people are called lawyers. If you want to pursue this field, you should first know the types of law:

Public law

Public law envelops the relationship of government.

Private law

Private law envelops the relationship of the people with one another.

International law

International law envelops the relationship of nations.

If you don’t want to pursue this, you should at least know your rights as a citizen. Examples of your rights include the right to an attorney, the right to remain silent, the right to freely move, freedom of expression, the right to establish abode wherever in the country you like and many more. If you want to know more, you can read books or simply ask lawyers.
